Seela

A modern and minimalistic eCommerce experience for Seela’s customers. After two years in business, Seela had outgrown their existing storefront and needed to upgrade their digital experience to align with their premium, high quality garments. Aztech was approached by the team at Seela to re-design and upgrade their Storefront to create a more elegant and sophisticated eCommerce experience.

Project Overview

Launched in 2020 by Ida Skarp in Zürich, Seela Studio encourages women to strengthen their body and mind with clean, natural products that extend their lifetime. Combining modern science with refined design, Seela develops thoughtful essentials for longevity, at one with nature.

All Seela garments are made from castor oil, which is a multi-purpose vegetable oil that people have used for thousands of years for its natural health benefits, including its anti-inflammatory, bacteria-fighting and moisturizing properties.

After two years in business, Seela had outgrown their existing storefront and needed to upgrade their digital experience to align with their premium, high quality garments. Aztech was approached by the team at Seela to re-design and upgrade their Storefront to create a more elegant and sophisticated eCommerce experience. We needed to create a compelling site design that would attract new customers and communicate Seela’s unique value proposition. 

Key Challenges

As a growing business, we had to think strategically about crafting a digital experience that would appeal to Seela’s existing customers, as well as new customers as they continue to scale up in future. Creating an eCommerce experience that resonated with Seela’s target audience of climate conscious customers with disposable income who care deeply about purchase decisions and their impact on our planet. Seela also wanted to elevate their store UX Design and communicate the essence of their brand to customers through the digital experience. We had to ensure the premium quality of Seela’s products was consistent with a premium and elegant digital customer experience.

Our Solution

A modern and minimalistic eCommerce experience for Seela’s customers.Incorporating design thinking principles allowed us to reverse engineer the perspective of the end user and design a store that captured the essence of Seela’s luxury and premium brand. To keep the Design feeling premium and fresh, we included animations at strategic points on the storefront.Compelling storytelling is another major foundation of Seela’s brand. Creating plant based sustainable activewear is no easy feat, and communicating the process and production practices around how this is done to the end consumer is an integral part in educating Seela’s customers. We helped Seela create a Wellness Journal to continue to educate customers on their unique production practices and conscious Health & Lifestyle alignment.

Our Solution

Upsell and cross sell moments were also important to introduce for Seela. The nature of their activewear means that customers can “Shop a Look” and purchase matching Sports bras, Leggings, Crop Tops and Shorts. We introduced custom cross sell moments on all PDP pages for customers to “Shop The Look” and purchase a full matching set. On the backend, we leveraged Metafields in Shopify to offer up this customized product experience. 

Behind the scenes, Seela signed on for an ongoing relationship with Aztech to ensure the store is at its best even after the launch.
